As soon this bad boy X is available I will download this guy on a full blown edit workstation... And through the next project at it and at it's older brother 7.
Well will see how he will hold up. Yeah it will the identical workstation and work flow.

Fight!!! ;)

If it's released during this week, I shall be sitting through my "staff development days" at work, with my laptop downloading over the speedy work internet connection. My home internet is far too slow to handle this type of thing (and the same goes for when Lion is released).

I'll definitely get it when it's out but i won't use it for any of my paid work till all the bugs are ironed out. FCP7 will still be my main system for a while.

yep spit it is ... one system will get FCPX ... see how it works and if FCP 7 will run on the same system w/o any issues

... i hope & guess there are some official simple / first / get started fcpx tutorials on the apple webside (like with FCP 6 & 7 ) ... so that i can have a look how the "new" "workflow" looks like ... and if i like what i see ... i totally go for it in the first 24h ;)

Just took delivery of a new iMac 27" with all the goodies. Its main purpose is to give FCPX a nice home to see how it goes.

Not sure what to expect for the first release, but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

I'll probably wait to get reports on how others are doing with it, and to find out if it can live on the same machine with FCP7. If it can I'll probably put it on my MBP first and try to open up some copies of old projects and see how they convert. Then I'll do some small personal projects with it. If it's anything like every other version of FCP it's gonna be buggy for a few weeks at least--always a safe bet to treat it like that anyway. I'm very excited to play with it, learn and explore, but I'm certainly not taking it into production right off the bat!

Not sure why the image is not showing up... will do another link. But if you click the Source link you might be able to see Final Cut Pro X in the App Store... ;)

It seems to indeed have gone. The other Final Cut Pro images there look like MacProVideo tutorials. I've been to their site (I get tutorials from them regularly) and they are advertising some new FCPX video tutorials that are still in production!

I'll be downloading and installing immediately. Shot some personal stuff on DSLR over the weekend that I'll make my first project.

However, I'm between major projects as of Friday. If I weren't, I'd be installing on a test system.

Even so, I made a fresh clone of my boot drive last night. Something I recommend everyone do before installing new software. Always nice to have a fall-back.

Doesn't appear to be available yet in New Zealand either! I see that Motion and Compressor come as separate downloads, also NO DVD Studio Pro?? Now, I know Apple are all about iCloud and don't seem to like optical drives but no DVDSP....???

Is now working and downloading from Canada. Try again - it looks like the web page went live before the store did.
