Page turn transition & vignette mask problem

Hi,

I have been learning the ropes on fcpx for a few months, grasping the basics and learning as much as i can. i am stuck at the min.

I am editing a photo montage of a day out. It starts as a book, so naturally i want the page turn transition i have applied a vignette mask but instead of the mask for each photo its bringing up the mask for a photo over the image before it for 1 frame before the transition. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm running the latest fcpx and since then its lagging a lot so hopefully a new update will sort this out.

Lag can only be commented on with system specs. What Mac, how much RAM, what is your hard drive configurations, etc.

Not totally clear about your question, so a screen shot would help.

Agree with Ben regarding lag. For the mask issue, mask all your still photos first (either in a photo app or by saving still frame in FCPX). Then bring those masked photos into the timeline and apply the transition.
