The point was clearly stated by the OP very early in the discussion:

"Lots of folks are complaining about not having major feature updates multiple times each year for FCPX.

Some complain about or don’t appreciate the costs or FCPX/Motion/Compressor."

The thread is not 'advertising' to anyone ... the thread is simply pointing out that current owners of FCP X have indeed received more than a fair return on their investment.

I totally agree. And it's not only fun, it's economic reality. We mostly deal with companies that have anything between 10 and 50 editors. Paying once for their FCP X licenses including multiple updates, instead of having to pay every year or -heaven forbid- every month for other NLEs, makes a big difference to these people. And it makes a strong point for FCP X, among many others.

What Apple has done is allow new editors into a professional space that a decade ago they might not have been able to access with the same freedom to invest in add on's, plug in's and so on.

Younger editors are taking over, schools can invest in camera gear instead of expensive seat licensees, students are making films shooting on iphones, and editing on laptops to a degree not possible a decade ago.

The learning curve of FCPX is not steep, color finale a wonderful add on, the editing space is open to all, and for the better.
