Lasso Selecting Connected Storylines

OK. So let’s say I have three things connected to the main primary storyline, all layered on top of one another. One is just a regular connected clip. The other two are connected storylines. I want to move them all at one time as a group to another spot in the primary storyline. If you lasso select the three, you can’t drag them around because of the connected storylines. It selects the individual clips inside those connected storylines, not the storylines themselves. I have to cmd-click the two connected storylines' "shelves" and then cmd-click the connected clip. Then I can drag them as a group. Is there an easier way to select them all at once?

Make them all a Compound Clip, perhaps.
Cmd-clicking three items isn't a lot of work, or time consuming, I'd think.

It is when you've got scores and scores of similar (but not identical) elements that you need to move around in a project.

OK, cause you just said one clip, two storylines, which isn't a lot. But if you have to move them a lot, and this is a common occurrence, I'd look at your overall editing workflow. Again, you may need to be creating Compound Clips of these groups that need to stay together, from the beginning.

Creating compound clips isn't really the answer. I run into this and I don't want to have to make and break compound clips all the time in this instance. I think there should be a way to lasso select both connected clips and connected storylines so they all can be moved together. I have suggested this via feedback and suggest you do as well.
