FCP.co bros and ladies, need your help with 2 questions.

1. Shift-F works the same way it did in FCP7 where you can find a image, clip, or sound on the timeline within your huge bin. But does that work in reverse? If I highlight a sound file, clip, or image, in my bin, folder, or smart collection, can I do a Shift-F like keystroke that will show me where that is on the timeline? Hopefuly so.

2. Is there are plugin out there that will allow me to organize all my files with color coding? Smart Collections are good but the color coding adds to my organization. In addition, I'm wondering if any exist that color code what is on the timeline based upon the bin/folder/collection color.

3. Finally, added to #2, the ability to have items already on the timeline show up with a mark or color code identifying them as already used.

Just some quick hints to your questions...

1- You can use the Timeline index to do this ...
2- Not yet . but if you tag "color code" in Finder prior to import you can have keywords from that. (Keywords are great)
3- View menu: Show used media ranges

some others will chime in with more detailed answers

What is this "bin" you speak off?

Francois hit the points, that's about it. Color coding isn't here yet, but would be nice.
