Stamp effect on FCPX ? was created by Emmanuel
Hi guys
I was wondering if there's an easy way to make a stamp effect on FCPX.
I see how I could do it in Motion using the Z axis but isn't there a faster way right inside FCPX ?
Something similar as this:
vimeo.com/91943553
Thank you !!!!

Video doesn't have Z, just Scale. You could fake it with keyframing Scale, though. To do what they're showing, you'd need to go into Motion.

… most complicated tut for a simple effect, I say ...
If you don't want to use Motion (which HAS a z-axis
), I would...
• use a more stamp-like font, there are several ones avail for free at dafont.com
• mimic DoF and motion-blur (blurred=fast!!) by applying a key-framed Gaussian
• mimic 'impact' by a few, small erratic x/y and rotation keyframes
• depending where you stamp, try diff. comp modes, multiply etc and opacity values
… that's done in minutes ...

I bought a a 3d plugin from fcpeffects.com they are a great little company I'm sure you could do that if I was trying I believe I would either make it in photoshop as a png or there is a free effect on this website that has a stamp like look that could probably be exported and then imported and adjusted using the 3d effect I mentioned above.
Otherwise, the photoshop method would be easy because make it 3x larger than the timeline is and simply use the scale feature plus teh 3d so it can come in then flip flop and move into place. Good luck
