Green screen importing sony FS5 footage

Well it did work before the last OSX update, but now I can't import any FS5 footage anymore. The import screen stays green. The clips play in VLC.
Besides that I've got constant unexpected quits when just trimming clips in older projects. The program seems sluggish also.
Did a pref trash.
Before a complete reinstall. Any suggestions?

You need to install the Sony plugin (Apple FCPX official website link), and the need to import material source data (BPAV folder all data).

I'll try a re-install. No BPAV folder. It's XVAC not XDCAM. Thanks

I've been playing with the FS5 we rent out at work and I've had no problem importing the footage directly into FCPX and I haven't installed any plugins from Sony to make the footage work. I have not updated to El Cap yet because I don't see the point in doing that until FCPX is updated for it, everything works fine now so why risk it.
I know that there are issues sometimes when the footage is copied off the card and onto a hard drive instead of importing directly to FCPX. I had this issue when someone shot a short film on the FS700 and just copied all the files to a hard drive, none of the MTS files would import to FCPX, but they worked fine in Resolve so I just transcoded to ProRes.
Let me know if you want me to do any tests, I've got access to the FS5, FS7, FS700, and F55.

Hi,
The problem only occurs on an iMac. The footage is ok when importing on a macbook. Perhaps a re-install is the solution.
