Can FCPX create several audio synced clips at once? was created by BambooMagic
I've been researching this for a while and I'm afraid of the answer.
What I'm trying to do is pretty straightforward and surely something that nearly every editor needs. I have multiple video clips and multiple audio clips. I'm trying to sync all the clips at once so I can get multiple synced clips. Is this possible? I know that Sync-N-link does this (which is why I'm assuming FCP won't do it) but it only syncs with timecode. I'm trying to sync with audio. Please tell me that FCPX can create MULTIPLE synced clips at once. I would hate to sync audio/video one clip at a time. FCPX does a great job of syncing audio and video but it's not a very useful feature when you have hundreds of takes to sync and need to do it one clip at a time.

You should check Red Giant Plural Eyes, or spend a day and a half doing it one by one.

Sync-N-Link is the only way to do what you want to do. Syncing separate takes/shots manually isn't that hard if you nail down the shortcut keystrokes. Make sure when you shoot again that you use sync time code.

That's disappointing. I was hoping not to use a 3rd party tool like PluralEyes. Sync-N-Link is great but not every client uses a recorder that generates timecode so that's out. Ah well...

I know a manual process doesn't sound like fun, but there are some tricks to help speed it up some. Sam Mestman always has some good points on naming clips for sync. He tends to sync things inside of multicam clips, instead of just synced clips, though.
* If you name the video clips and audio clips to group them together visually (angle, cam name, etc), you can click each group and "make synchronized clip". I bet you could create a synced clip every 3-4 seconds this way. Just a lot of manual labor at that point. You could easily make 15 clips a minute, though.
