Any experience with GoPro 4 Silver 4K??? was created by Navigator
Thinking about purchasing the GoPro 4. Some doubts about the Silver or Black edition. I want to experience '4k'. Anyone who worked with the Silver model and shot and edited 4k (15fps). Is it handling movement better than 1080p 60fps?
Just curious (and filming for hobby).......

In my opinion, recording at 15 fps is only useful for frame-grabs or time-lapse,
the only reason for video to be lower than 24 fps would be to save space (for internet streaming) or something like stop-motion where a higher frame-rate might not be practical.
I would pretty much take 1080 60p over even 4k 30p most of the time, considering that most people have no way to watch 4k and of those that do only a small percentage have devices where you could actually see a difference between 4k and a high quality HD stream.
If you're shooting talking heads or something else with minimal/slow movement you might not notice, but sports/action videos shot at 15fps will have a noticeable jerky/strobe effect.
My guess is that the 4k 15fps is mostly added as a marketing gimmick and so people can shoot time-lapse/take screen-grabs (from a RC Helicopter or kite for instance)
Hope this helps,
-Mark

GoPro 4 Black does 4K at 24, 25, 30fps.
GoPro 4 Silver only does 4K at 15 & 12.5fps. Both of those frame rates, IMHO, are 100% useless for serious video work. Total waste of money for such a garbage frame rate. Just my opinion.
And 15fps is nothing near slow enough to be time lapse. It's simply outdated, cheap web video garbage frame rate.

Not sure about the hero 4 silver, but the hero 3 black edition has intervalometer settings down to one frame every 120 seconds.

Pretty much all GoPros do time-lapse.

Thanks guys. It's the black version for me. No touch screen but the app will compensate this.

I find the rear touch screen SUPER helpful, more so than the app. But I use both, would never want to go without either.

I'm used to the Hero 3+ silver now. No touch screen also and familiar with the app.
