Unable to Delete Missing File Clips...

I'm sorry if this has been covered or is in the wrong forum area. I did have a look around but there are a lot of posts, so i may of missed it. I'll try and make this short and sweet.

So I've got a large Library of Events/Projects I've been working on for months. I've just realised that I should of really split these up into separate individual Libraries instead of them all being under one roof. So I've gone to the task or reorganising them all and this is where my issue has cropped up.

FCP won't let me move some Events/Projects because I have red box Missing Files icon that has suddenly popped up in a lot of my Projects. I've identified what the Missing Files are, but I no longer have these documents/pictures etc on my system. It now means that every time I go to delete the clip from my timeline, it simply does not allow me. I don't want to delete the whole Event/Project either.

Also, sometimes when I go to delete the Missing File clip or I do go to remove the whole Event/Project. I get a message saying something like - The file 'Outro.(other text here)' cannot be saved - or something along those lines. Which is strange because I don't want to save anything, I want to remove it all from FCP.

So I was wondering if anyone can help in figuring out a solution to this and on how to get ride of these Missing Files so I can reorganise my Libraries.

Try opening the project in a timeline, selecting the missing clip in the timeline and press DELETE. Then in the event browser, select the missing files and delete them also. Let us know the result.

Tried this.

I've attempted to remove the missing file from my projects timeline, be it a an image a can view or multiple with the red background. Tried taking it out of the actual browser etc. None of them work.

Anytime I try to delete a clip of this matter from my timeline, my scrubbing bar will just reset to the start of it. I try and delete the project and i get this strange message about the file(s) - The file “Outro-PdyC1X.caf” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file. This message even pops up about music that I do still have or music files that come with FCPX...

I want to consolidate my libraries but this is stopping me from doing it. Any old project cannot be deleted because of this, meaning I cannot fully delete it and it's library to start a new one.

@dgwvideo: It worked putting the clips in a project first. Now I'd like to delete the project too (for visual/overview reasons).

How could I now delete the project?
