Hi Wesley,
Did you try looking in the path(s) I listed on the other thread?

Did you by chance remove iMovie from your computer?
If you did you may/should have to re-download iMovie from the App Store, purchased tab.
However, the sound files may still exist on you hdd. If they are and you don't want iMovie app, we can create links to the files.

If you didn't find them there, and you have iMovie installed, you should find them by…
Open a Finder Window and select your Boot drive (or double click on its icon if it shows on your Desktop.)
Click on the "Applications" (This is your "Applications" folder which you can also access from the Finder by using the shortcut keys "Command+Shift+A")
Right (Control) Click on "iMovie"
Click on "Show Package Contents"
Click on "Contents" folder
Click on "Resources" folder
Scroll down and you should find iLife Sound Effects folder
You will also see iMovie Sound Effects folder.
This is the current default location for the latest version of iMovie, earlier versions stored files in other locations. These files are now "hidden" by default and even using "Spotlight" may not find them. You have to right click, Show Package Contents to see them.
Are they There???
If not, go get iMovie.
Post back and we'll go from there.

Hope this helps, Greg

Hi Ben
Where the iLife files are stored and resources depends on how and when you installed iMovie and other iLife apps. With a clean install of OS, FCPX, iMovie, the iLife Sound Effects appear only in iMovie and are no longer in Apple Loops folder. FCPX does not copy them into Apple Loops location, but uses links. They are now essentially "Hidden".
You can of course copy them and install in that location, but this increases storage space. You could "Move" the files. You can also create links(aliases) using Terminal.

Finally, there are many people complaining about iLife Sound Effects not showing up in FCPX starting with 10.1.2(?) and this can sometimes can be fixed by simply opening up and closing iMovie, then GB, then resetting FCPX preferences. If the OP still had the Sound Effects Folder, but it wasn't indexing in FCPX to try this, and then if needed we could link the files. Seems to be a coding error with sharing of resources in newer versions.(??)

Older versions of iLife/iMovie/GarageBand used various locations including Apple Loops where you still find GB and FCPX sounds. Use of Migration Assistant will complicate where these files are. I always do "Clean Installs" of new OS major versions so I have to look for new file locations with each iteration. Apple is not always consistent in folder location.

I suspect that when the OP initially used the files, they were in different location, when he re-installed iLife apps they moved, FCPX is referencing earlier location and file ID, now FCPX is not seeing the files due to them being elsewhere than project Links. Essentially a "Missing Files" without the warning. So just trying to help.

Not sure what your mean by… "FCPX does not resource the copy that is inside of the iMovie package." Seems to on my system, works just fine. FCPX10.2.2 / OS 10.11.1

This thread is a continuation of the thread you started earlier on FB flagging music for copyright... www.fcp.co/forum/13-made-with-final-cut-...24634-omg-not-fb-too

Hope this helps, Greg
