Syncing Audio to Video to get the best results was created by PhilCF
Hi Guys,
I am recording sound and video separate and then using FCP's "Synchronise Clips" function to match the two. I have found this has posed a number of problems:
1) The scratch track on my DSLR is hissy as hell and this hiss has now found it's way into the Synchronised audio.
When I drag the video into the timeline and the recorded audio and then match the two up manually, I can then remove the audio track on the DSLR and I get MUCH better audio results.
The problem with matching the sound and video manually in the timeline is that I lose the keywording and favourites functionality of the browser, so my project is becoming incredibly hard to control / manage.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the right way to sync audio and video so that the original DSLR scratch audio is deleted when the sync is made?
Thanks,
Phil x

I just realised that if I highlight the manually syncronised clip in the timeline, I can choose "reveal in browser" and this then puts me back in the browser with a synced up clip. So this has sorted it. BUT... Is there a better way?

Select the sync clip. In the audio inspector in channel configurations you can switch off the tracks you don't want.
