Synced Clips VS Compound Clips was created by davechap
Hey guys,
I'm doing some tests here working with Synchronized Clips. I assumed that they created a kind of Compound Clip, maintaining a reference to the bin clip when making changes. Now that I have edited a compound clip into a project multiple times (it was an interview), I'm finding that opening in timeline edits a completely different clip. Nothing is tied together at all. However, with normal compound clips, opening in timeline will let you make color changes, audio changes, etc that all ripple back across all of the instances (unless a new parent copy is made).
Is this new? Did I miss something here?
Thanks for your help.
// Quick bit of info, I'm on 10.11.2 with FCPX 10.2.2 //

Sync clips in early versions were compounds, but they aren't any more. Sync clip in the browser is separate from clip I'm a project, just like any other clip. No recursive behavior like compounds.

Thanks, Tom. That's what I was afraid of. I guess I should have synced my clips using a single angle Multicam Clip or a compound clip and synced manually.
