Delete Title out of FCPX was created by Promaetheus
Hello dear colleagues!
I am new to FCPX and this forum. I searched in this database, but, even if i can't believe it, there was nor results found.
I opened a preset title with right-click in motion, changed it a little bit and saved it as a new title in FCPX. As far as good. The title was shown in the tile-presets, also the little icon was correct looking. But when i went over it with the mouse the large preview above right looked like a dashed "T" and an exclamation mark with red/orange background:
So i wanted to delete the title out of my database, but I could not. Second try, now a second title, not working, is in the presets.
Please can you tell me what i did wrong and how i can delete this titles out of my FCPX?

In Finder, goto Movies/Motion Templates/Titles/… and each title has its own folder; erase the two you don't need. On next launch of FCPX, they should be gone....

Welcome to the forums Prometheus
You say you "opened a preset title with right-click in motion"; was this a standard FCPX preset title or is it a 3rd party Title?
After making changes in Motion, did you "Publish" the additions/changes? You need to hover over the added change and disclosure area and click on the "Publish" check box(s). Then "Save" the Title project preferably with a new name. You need to publish in order to able to change "parameters" inside FCPX.
This should work.
If it is a 3rd party Title, check for updated files. You could also recreate it in Motion from scratch.
If you are using non-standard fonts, this could also upset Motion/FCPX. Some fonts included in other programs will not behave properly.
Karsten has already provided a method for removing the "Title" file. This does point out another reason you want to change the name.
Try again and let us know.
Hope this helps, Greg

HI. Thanks for your answers and thank you for the path and how to remove the titles. It worked perfectly.
The titles i modified were original fcpx titles. But i found the problem in the meanwhile. I was running an older version of fcpx (i think 10.1.3 or so) and motion 5. I think this was the problem. Since i have upgraded to fcpx 10.2 it works perfectly.
Thank you very much for your help.
One last issue i have: somehow i closed the "popup" window in motion, where i can change the text attributes like size, style and so on. How can I reactivate this window again?

F7 is the keyboard shootout to enable/disable the HUD.
F4 takes you to the same controls in the Inspector.
