you want an honest answer?
Don't like.
You need why?
Way too much 'effects', no 'flow', no story.
Excellent photography, breathtaking action, no doubt!
But what are these effects for? as much as possible but with no need (e.g. light leaks are good for covering edits - but ask for light in scene). Each effect once (e.g. those 'digi artifacts', once, but never again - is material 'dirty'or not??)
Scenes are arbitary stapeled together; edit doesn't catch movement (of subject or camera), no flow, no action/reaction, no shot/countershot, ....
And what do I see here? A run? Training? What do the 4 frames of a photo album tell me??
sorry, no [strike]rose[/strike] like

oops, sorry, never notice that tiny orange pixel ... I've send you an answer.
'story' is a big word, but every 'movie' should follow some line; what comes up to mind: from start to end; or from easy to complicated; … and the photo album implies a 'story', not?
If all that was just some apprentice exercise, forget my comments......
Looking forward to your mail - and ALWAYS apply a 'reg' sending me mails! No reg >> filter >> straight to spam...

I totally disagree with Karsten. Having worked on extreme sports videos quite a bit, I think it came out well. That's how that genre is done, Karsten. Good job.

My opinion:
It's true the extreme sports stuff is often edited like this. If it doesn't have lots of effects, it's just not EXTR3E33M3 enough. Anyway the goal of this style of editing to to simulate a rush of adrenaline and/or someone having a seizure due to the epicness of the footage. As for me personally I'm never a big fan of translucent scenes pasted on top of one another like that and digital tape glitches. The tape glitches make me think "Damn these guys can't even acquire their footage very well" and "why are they even using tape?". Though I have seen similar glitches with well-used P2 cards. I would have personally left the photographs out. However they were used quickly and you have to be looking to truly notice them. The rest of the video is mostly fine and well done. It seems like a good ad for "Come watch our sick Motocross event!"
Bottom line: You're not bad, keep it up!

Hey Redifer, Thanks.
Just out of interest, what photographs were you talking about? if it's at the 31 sec mark of the vid, that's a 'freeze frame' technique. it kinda tied in with the music at that moment.

Looks great, nice and dynamic.
Just be careful using the music. If you use this to promote anything with a commercial gain, even indirectly you'll be in breach of copyright unless you've obtained publishing and mechanical permission to use that track.

… close, but wrong:
You publish material, you own no rights to publish it. Full stop.
The 'purpose' why you publish it, doesn't matter. First hand.
That's why it's called copy_right in some areas. You publish copies. <buzzer>
In Europe, we have no ©, us is 'creators rights', you can not monetize, and 'usage rights', which has similiar effects as copyrights.
OK, in some countries, there are exceptions, fair use, academical use, etc etc..
But 'publishing' another ones material is noGo. Basically.
Just to mention: a) I'm no lawyer, b) I prefer fair use, c) I'd like to pay creators, not companies (that HappyBirthday nonsense came finally to an end!!), which in days of tracking each mouseclick would be easiely to accomplish, but the fat cats spend tons of money to 'lobby' for their obsolete, centuries old rights.......
