Hi!
Does anyone know a) if the "Zoom & Pan" transition in FCPX can be opened in Motion to customize or b) if not, why not? Thanks a ton for any info you can provide.

It doesn't. Like cross dissolve I understand it's not built using Motion.

Transitions, effects, generators, titles in FCPX are created one of two ways. With Motion, which allows us to open a copy and modify. Or with FxScript, which is coding, and the average editor can't touch. To know which is which, right-click one in the browser, and see if it offers the option to open it in Motion.
