I'm about to start on a job that's 95 percent talking heads, and of those, 80 percent will have been recorded in 29.97. What to do with the 25 fps clips when working in FCPX? Dump them in the 29.97 project and keep going? Or transcode the 25 fps clips in Compressor, AME or whatever, then reimport to FCPX?
Many thanks in advance for your recommendations.

I'd just drop them in, if there's no panning or fast lateral movement, probably no one will notice.
If you see noticeable jitteriness you can change the rate conform setting to 'Optical Flow'.
Hope this helps,

Talking heads won't make a difference. As stated before, unless there's a lot of motion, just drop it in and no one will notice anything.
