No support for XF-AVC from the Canon C300 Mark II
Does anyone know if there's a way of getting the driver into FCPX because I don't want to go back to the pain that is transcoding vast swathes of media.
Thanks,

Thanks but looks like I'm the only one using FCPX with the C300M2, on this forum anyways.

I'm finding confusing information about this online. For instance, I just read on Twitter that you can successfully import XF-AVC media into Final Cut Pro X:
Invalid consumer key/secret in configuration
It seems FCPX needs to rewrap the MXF original files to MOV (so the support is not "truly native" I guess). But at least you can import the files with the "Copy to Library Destination" option checked.
Has anyone had the same experience with XF-AVC Intra frame footage?

They are OP1a MXF files that you can import straight into Final Cut Pro X 10.2.2 even with the "Leave Files in Place" option (rewrapping is not necessary).
So it seems that Apple added support to XF-AVC in FCPX 10.2.2 (which came with a Pro Video Formats update as well)
Anyone still having issues with this format under 10.2.2? Can we confirm that this is fixed for good?

In this screencast he took the time to make, he proves that FCPX 10.2.2:
- Supports all YCC 4:2:2 10-bit Canon C300 Mk II formats: HD/2K/UHD/4K.
- Doesn't support any of the RGB 4:4:4 formats (HD/2K) regardless of the bit depth (10/12-bit).
I hope this is useful for someone else in this forum. I will definitely send feedback to Apple about this issue. Hopefully they will support 4:4:4 RGB clips from the Canon C300 MK II in future updates.

Strange thing is that I have the same version of both FCPX and OSX and I have installed the latest Apple pro video formats plugin but all the files on my import window are greyed out. I shot everything in HD YCC 10bit. The only thing I can think of doing is a fresh install, so that's what I'm doing now.
So infuriating!! I'll let you know how I get on.

Do you have the Canon XF Plugin for Final Cut Pro X installed in your system?

I don't have it installed and I could import the test files I linked to in my previous post without a problem.
Maybe you are running into some kind of conflict with the Canon plugin... Have you tried uninstalling that instead?
Good luck!
