Hi guys:
I've got a big problem, I have a Mac mini 3,1
(Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed:2.26 GHz Number of Processors:1 Total Number of Cores:2 L2 Cache:3 MB Memory:4 GB Bus Speed:1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version:MM31.00old projectsAD.B00 SMC Version (system):1.35f1
I've been working on a couple projects in FCP X 10.2.1 "El Capitan" (recently downloaded) and I've used up most of my memory. So I started deleting projects and any junk. I've deleted over 30 gigs but I still have only approximately 600 mega-bites left. I then tied using CleanMyMac 3.1.1 but that didn't help. Please tell me what I've done wrong, I need that memory.
Thanks
Chuck

Get a fast external drive to hold your libraries and media files.

NEVER EVER use such "cleaners". They do no good and often harm your computer.
As Tom already said, you need a fast external drive for your media. And you need to learn about managing media. Your problem may be caused by creating optimized media on import. Optimized media typically uses a lot more disk space than original media and in many cases it is not necessary - FCP X can probably work with your original media without optimizing.

A couple things you can do,
Delete unused render files,
Also make sure you are actually deleting video, pressing the delete key just marks video as rejected.
change the browser filter to 'Rejected only' and then you can use 'Command-delete' to move files to the system trash.
hope this helps,
