I am working on a project that sounds from waterfalls and rivers are the only sounds. But those lacks dynamic and depth. Is there any filter in FCPX that can adjust that a bit. I have tried some but never get it right, as a hobbyist this is my weakest link in editing. I would be grateful if someone could advice me.

Hi Makki
A sample might help as well as a better description of what you would like to achieve and maybe a sample of target sound you would like to mimic.
Great sound begins with the recording. Adding extra mics, or extra recordings; positioning them close and far away and a dozen other factors all add to the total ambiance. For example: if your video includes a small waterfall that you want to highlight, then recording audio with the mic very close to that, will enhance the mood.
Here are a few things to try.
Duplicate the audio clip(s) 2 or more times. Work on the dups.
Add panning to give a sense of motion.
Add movement timed to the video with volume adjustments. Example: while vid zooms in, boost volume.
Alter the EQ of one clip to add some additional bass and play with other frequencies by boosting and attenuating in ranges.
Add some echo/reverb/delay, keep it subtle.
If you really want to play beyond this, you need to use something like "Space designer". Working in Logic Pro X (or other DAWs) gives you a lot more control.
Now you will get 10 more audio engineers with 20 different opinions.
It really depends on your own vision of the sound you want, and then lots of time learning how to achieve that vision.
You also have the option of finding the sounds you want via the internet and adding to your video.
Hope this helps, Greg

Thank yo so much for those suggestions, I will certainly try them out. The sound is to flat, it lacks the dynamic sound. I know now that if the microphone did not capture the sound well, there is little that effects can do. But thank you again.

And exciter, a chorus, a spreader, there are several filters that can fatten and widen up a thin sound.
