Keywordng - best workflows and small issue was created by simonpwood
I am starting a large project that I need to start keywording properly (I'm usually pretty blasé with keywords).
One thing I have noticed that I think was not an issue in earlier versions of FCPX is this:
When you have already edited some clips and made selections, and then try to keyword afterwards by dragging the mouse over a number of clips. Instead of selecting the whole clip it only selects the previous selection used for editing - so when you add the keyword to that group it does not keyword the whole clip.
I am not explaining it properly - but the above image shows the blue line is only in certain ares of the clips, not the whole clip.
Is there someway to easily select groups of whole clips for keywording, ignoring previous selections?

First select all the clips so the selections are selected and mark them as favorites. Then use option-x to select the whole clips, dropping the selections, then keyword.

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply.
Option-X seems to be the thing I was looking for.
One question - once I mark them as favourites, is there anyway to unmark them as favourites later on?!

Yes, select the clip, and hit the gray star icon in the tool bar. Keyboard shortcut is U (un-rate).
