Plugin colour grader for FCPX - which one to choose? was created by DMitchell
Hi all,
A hard question here...
There are so many colour-grading plugins for FCPX I am at a loss which one to get...
Can anyone suggest which one is best and easiest to use? (if that's not a contradiction).
Oh, and reasonably priced too!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

I agree: many different third-party solutions and all have their pros and cons.
If you need a powerful color correction add-on without breaking the bank, take a look at Color Finale which gives you color wheels, curves, vectors and LUTs. It also works very well with TrackX/Mocha if you need to track color corrections:

If you need to make quick fixes without destroying your footage, HyColor is a very decent add-on:

I'd also recommend getting a solid grasp and mastery of the FCPX Color Correction effect first, before moving to 3rd party solutions. At least then you'll have the basics of color grading down, and know what it lacks that you specifically need. Colorgradingcentral.com has some of the best color grading tutorials, highly recommended.
