media/trash quesiton was created by Villagenut
While in a given library, I have removed all media files and projects via "move to trash". In trying to free up space, i did sweep of harddrive, accessed the library thru Finder, and found that within the original media folder there were multiple .mov files still present even though they don't show up in the project file from within FCPX. I hope that made sense but my question is, what am i doing wrong that this stuff isn't completely deleted when i move to trash.
THANKS!

Are you using managed media or external media? Is the media inside the library or in an external folder? If the material, move to trash doesn't do anything to the media, just removes it from the library.

I feel very stupid. The media is stored within the library. I had inadvertently filtered the media list therefore it wasn't showing up. When i set it to show "All Clips" it was there and i was able to delete them
