Hey guys

So I record game footage from my iPad using QuickTime, once its downloaded I add it to FCPX and then record a voice over.

Unfortunately I now need to add some 'pencil drawings' on the actual video footage

For example say I was recording a game - I would like to use my mouse cursor to draw a circle etc on a particular character etc.

Is this possible? If not in FCPX then how else could I do this?

Hope you guys can help

There is a plugin called Story Pop from Stupid Raisins (available thru FX Factory) that contains shapes and much more that can be drawn onto the screen and positioned and timed however you need. I think this would accomplish what you want to do. If you want to do this outside of FCPX, take a look at VideoScribe.

The free TKY Marker Pen may be all you need. You might also check out Ripple Callouts .

Aside the wonderful call-outs of ripple, you find tons of readymade 'highlights' all across the web , from sketchy drawn to more … elaborated ones, such as <cough> my DoLlineDot , you'll find here fore free at fcp.cos plugin depository ...

Finally, the Write-on behvior in Motion5 isn't just meant for letters only, but it help to create your own, 'handwritten' lines, arrows, boxes and shapes.

.... if you're good in drawing ... me not  so, we come back to ready-mades ...............
