Thunderbolt Drive Quirk

HI all,

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

I have a couple of G-Drive Mobile Thunderbolt Drives which I use as DIT backup drives on a shoot. I have various folders on there from a few shoots.

When I plug either of them into a thunderbolt port, FCPX thinks it's a camera and shows ever single clip on the drive in the import window. It will not let me navigate to a specific folder so I'm just left with a massive list of files.

Any idea why FCPX behaves this way with these Thunderbolt drives?

The most common cause of this is having something at the root level of the drive that mimics a camera, usually a folder with a name like PIVATE or DCIM or VIDEO, the kind of folder that appears on a camera card.
