Issues DPX to ProRes

Working on a project that has been color corrected, graded in DaVinci Resolve and rendered out into DPX.

Now we need to get the DPX back into FCPX. Using the DPX to QT from AJA the ProRes file is much darker in Gamma then the DPX.

What are solutions to this?

Thanks

If you download the free version of DaVinci Resolve, you will be able to render accurate ProRes files from the DPX image sequence. Resolve can even tell where shot breaks are (if that helps).

If you need higher than 2K--you will have to purchase the $999 version of Resolve.

If I understand the choice of output (DPX) , the grading must come from a linux or PC DAVINCI without ProRes capability … DPX embed a lot information and dynamic range but are often of a specific Color Space and gamma (lin log etc)

One solution could be to reload the DPX sequence in DAVINCI lite on a Mac and do a ProRes delivery from this software …

my two cents

I had the same problem in the past with Assimilate Scratch on a PC, FCP on a Mac.

The best solution was (as Francois says) to install Assimilate ScratchLab on the Mac, import the DPX and export a quicktime file in Apple ProRes. I'm pretty sure you can achieve the same results by installing DaVinci Resolve Lite in your Mac to import DPX files and export an Apple ProRes quicktime file for FCPX.
