Recorded a long meeting last night in 1080/50p (using Panasonic HC-X920) but when trying to import clips are not there?
I know they were recorded as checking the MTS files I can see them. My concern is it was one continuous recording and this is causing the problem.
Is there a way round this or will I need to remove the MTS files and repackage them?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Hey Dan, welcome to the forum.
Long AVCHD clips are divided into "spanned" chunks of 2.12 Gig, that's the nature of the card media format. If you have the complete card structure, FCP X should see the spanned clips as one on file.
When you copy the entire folder structure from your camera card to your desktop or a different drive, you launch FCP X and you open the Import window, does FCP X see the folder and does it show the media in the import window?
If it doesn't, you may have a card that is overly full. And this can cause problems with spanned clips. In such cases you will need to extract the MTS files from the folder and import the individual MTS clips in FCP X. Of course your long recording will be spilt into different chunks.

I don't work with AVCHD, so I don't know. But I have a question about overly full cards. If you copy the card (structure in tact) to a hard drive, would that help?

Hi Ben,
It could help. Cards that get too full may overwrite the card headers. Copying the card to a drive may (or may not) fix this issue.

I don't know which update (FCPX or OS) fixed that issue but:
"Never mix mp4 and AVCHD on one card" were the Golden Rule until then.
(esp. we hobbyists love to squeeze anything on one card, no wonder Ronny or Ben never heard of it  )
Any mp4 recordings on a card 'hide' the AVCHD folder/pkg.
workaround:
copy the mp4 manually from card to some drive; erase'em; AVCHB back...
BUT … as mentioned, meanwhile Yosemite/FCPX recognize both on one card. What is your setup?
