Hi,
Up until recently I've been using Hamburg ProMedia's plug in to export XML and MXF files to my broadcaster... as I'm on a new machine now and FCPX supports MXF I'd like to do it without the plugin...
Do I just export an MXF with the 1080i25 AVC Intra 100 codec and then produce the XML with the DPP Metadata Application?
On a side note, if so, has anyone noticed that the DPP app doesn't work under El Capitan?
Thanks,
Johnny

Hi Johnny,
The DPP app changes regularly and no, it has not been adapted to El Capitan yet. I don't expect this to happen very soon either.
If you only need to export a straight 2-channel audio MXF, you can do this right inside FCP X. Then you can produce the XML with the DPP app. All the core metadata will be automatically set by FCP X, you can do the rest manually in DPP and create a template for future use.
If you need to export AS-11 or some other multi-channel MXF, you will need to assign Roles to your audio and export a multitrack QT video based on Roles first. This video will include all your audio channels configured according to the Roles. You can use this QT movie to convert it to a multichannel MXF in Compressor, using one of the available MXF presets. If you need to export AS-11 and you would like to get the Compressor presets, e-mail me: ronnycourtens@mac.com
