Hi all
Anybody used Calibrated{Q} MXF Import before? I'm sick of FCPX re-wrapping my XAVC footage and doubling the amount of storage required. From my reading it seems that Calibrated{Q} will stop the re-wrapping process and allow me to work directly off the original media. Has anybody else heard of any other plugins/software that can do this?
Cheers

I'm aware that FCPX is supposed to natively support MXF files now so I went into a card I just copied from my F55 to the hard drive. When I selected it in FCPX importer it only gave me the option to 'copy to library'. I then went to the card thats copied to my hard drive and dragged the actual MXF files over into the FCPX event and it imported them without rewrapping! My default setup for import in FCPX is 'leave files in place'.
I've uninstalled Sony's XAVC FCPX plugin from library > app support > proapps cause I thought that would fix this rewrapping issue but no, still rewrapping when using FCPX importer...
Any ideas?

Did you copy the card? It's a card structure. FCP treats it as a camera archive. This has nothing to do with MXF and rewrapping. AVCHD and every card structure behaves the same. FCP will not allow you to leave media in place in a camera structure.

Hi Tom
Yes its the exact same file structure as the original cards the footage was copied from. Ahh ok then. Well I guess its just a matter of dragging and dropping the .mxf files from finder into FCPX then. Strange that that way works fine...
The drag and drop way seems to work fine with my F55 XAVC-I footage but when I try the same process with my X70, HD XAVC-L footage it gives me an error saying "None of the selected files or folders can be imported. Change the selection and try again."
I was under the impression that FCPX 10.2.2 had fixed issues with XAVC-L import? My X70 has the latest V2 firmware and both the SD cards inside have been formatted in camera after the V2 firmware has been installed. I read somewhere that this had to be done in order to get XAVC-L clips from the X70 into FCPX.
Cheers
