Media import from Pegasus R2 4

Good morning, when choosing "import Media" from inside FCPX (my library and event are already open), the import window opens and searches for "additional media" on my pegasus R2 4.

This process takes quite a long time and it appears all files are being looked for as if it's a new drive. The message "loading 2204 files of 55,007" appears as a status indicator.

I do not have an option of having it search within specific folders.

Is this an issue of how my Pegasus drive is set up?

I'm using an IMac connected with a thunderbolt cable to the drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

How was your Pegasus drive formatted? It should be Mac Extended in a RAID 5.

Now, when you open the Import Media window, are you saying it automatically searches for files? That shouldn't be happening. Or do you open the Import window and select a folder or some file(s) to import first?

What OS X version and what FCPX version?

Thank you for the response. I was delayed getting access to my machine.

FCPX version = 10.2.2
Mac OS = 10.10.5

My drive is set up as Mac Extended Journaled, I will need to verify if it is set as RAID 5.

When I select "import media", the import window opens and I see all my drives on the left. If I select the Pegasus drive it begins loading ALL the files on the drive for me to choose from, which can take a long time. I am not able to see ANY folders to select on the files I want.

Note: I the finder window on my mac, the file structure exactly the way it was created. Could FCPX be looking at my Pegasus as an sd card or camera?

thanks again,
Brad

Ah, you may have a camera folder on the root level making FCPX think the whole drive is a camera card. If you have any camera cards on the root level, put them inside another folder with a different name.

My problem is now solved. thanks for the support on this, it was a huge problem.

The solution appears to be moving my content folders into other folders (as suggested). I did update the drivers for my Pegasus drive as well.

thanks again,
Brad
