maybe I'm just a bit lost in translation, but Randi Altman (found via Larry Jordan's newsletter) reports here from IBC
that "mocha comes as plugin to Final Cut"...
or Boris Continuum comes as plug-in?
or did allready came, so my coremelt plug-ins tell me ... ?
Maybe some native speaker can listen to that sequence; on mochas site 'just' mentioning DriveX, coremelts lastest ....
ok, does a hobbyist like me need a planar tracker... really? No.
But,maybe, would be nice ... I think … :pinch:
And price will be interesting, 'til now very few plugins dare to beat the host.app in $$$ .....

A Mocha plugin is exactly what she said. She specifically mentioned eliminating workarounds with the Big 3 NLEs and Mocha. She said Avid would be first and then the other 2 would follow. She mentioned this happening in the next 6 weeks.

I found a bit more info. This does appear to be part of Boris Complete. Doesn't sound like a standalone product.

... smart marketing, pushing sales of Boris Continuum, to get 'just' the tracker you have buy the whole box .
So, we hobbyists are 'out', actual price BC,without mocha 700$ ...
… or some very clever Masterplan:
consumer level mocha-fired tools by coremelt (price <100$)
pro tools: Boris, 1k$ range.... (=less than a day work for a pro)
No please, no new debate what or who is pro!!!
Thanks for digging deeper, T.!

Boris will make the Mocha planar tracker a plugin for the big there NLEs. Hope that doesn't screw CoreMelt, who's tech support is way better. Ever deal with Boris tech support? Ugh...
And the price of the tracker plugin by itself? Better be down around the Coremelt X-Suite price to compete, or Coremelt will have nothing to worry about.
Will be interesting to see. My personal opinion of Boris products is that they have always been way over priced. As if the mega-high price makes it seem more worth owning. Yeah, right...
I've not used a Boris product in a decade.

Very interesting - the market actually splits (no hard facts, just my personal impression):
Subscription - small amounts, cummultating over years ...
Low/no price - software gets subsidized... in case of Apple by hardware&media shops.
When Boris bought mocha, I commented here: in two years mocha is a Premiere exclusive... when, ... if a 1.000$ plugin doesn't sell, Boris has all reasons to exit the MacOS platform.
… and meanwhile coremelt earns some serious money <fingers crossed>
Or some 3-guys'n girls garageshop comes up with an even better idea........
