DTD Validation Error

Hey guys

I've just finished a project in the release version of Resolve 12 and have done a FCPX round trip. I'm getting an error msg in FCPX when I try and import the XML:

DTD validation failed. (Element clip content does not follow the DTD, expecting (note? , (conform-rate? , timeMap?) , ((adjust-crop? , adjust-corners? , adjust-conform? , adjust-transform? , adjust-blend? , adjust-stabilization? , adjust-rollingShutter?) , adjust-loudness? , adjust-noiseReduction? , adjust-humReduction? , (adjust-EQ | adjust-matchEQ)? , adjust-volume? , adjust-panner?) , (spine | audio | video | clip | title | mc-clip | ref-clip | audition | gap)* , (marker | chapter-marker | rating | keyword | analysi...)

Has anyone encountered this error before? Its the first time I've ever seen it and I've done a fair few round trips with Resolve and FCPX before. The only thing new this time is Resolve 12 for me.

The original XML from FCPX was version 1.5. I'm on FCPX 10.2.1 as well if that helps.

Here's a screenshot of the error:

Cheers

Hey Gavin,

The message says you have a bad or corrupt clip in your project. If you could get the complete error message with the "got" reference at the end, we could tell you what clip it is.

OTOH: you may not have anything bad or corrupt at all, and this is another bug in the Resolve 12 beta (never use beta versions of any software on real jobs).

That's why it's impossible to say what's really causing this error message (bad clip, bad XML lines or bug in Resolve beta). So maybe you should try roundtripping using the latest supported FCP XML version in Resolve instead, which is XML 1.4. If you still would get a DTD validation error with 1.4, at least we would know it's not due to a bug in the beta software.

Hey Ronny

Any idea how I can see the rest of the msg? It doesn't let me expand the window to see it all in FCPX....

Could definitely be a bug with Resolve as I have never had this problem before with previous version. The only thing that has change this time is the version of Resolve. This is the release version of 12. Its no longer in beta.

XML 1.5 is supported in Resolve 12. Might run an XML 1.4 round trip test to see how it goes. I'm guessing I'll lose all my colour correction that I've done (which is the whole 50 min project) if I go the XML 1.4 route?

Thanks Ronny

You could open the XML in Text Editor to find out what is wrong, or just send me the XML so I can have a look at it:
