Hi,
I"m shooting 4k on a GH4. Client wants 1400x600, so cuts out of top and bottom What's the best workflow in FCP to do this?
Thanks.

Probably a few ways to do this. Cut your 4K. Select everything and make it a compound clip. Make your custom size project and put the compound in it.

Just make a Project with custom settings of 1400x600, edit inside of it. If you resize after, titles, graphics, etc, may not line up as you thought they would. I've done a ton of digital signage work over the years, and we found the best practice is set up your Timeline/Project/Sequence to the frame size of the system you're delivering to. Get things set from the start and avoid hassles later on.
But you can cut it down after you've edited in a native timeline, also. Just visualize what will be cut off during your edits.
