Hi there
I'm exploring Resolve a little bit.
In the Color Correction panel, you can correct using "Primaries" or "Log". Log seems to be much more precise than Primaries.
The color correction tool of FCPX, is it equivalent to "Primaries" or to "Log"?
What about the CC plugins such as HyCoulour Pro and Color Finale ? Do they provide those two types of CC ?
Thank you !!!!

The CC in FCPX and 3-way CC in Color Finale are essentially the Primaries in DaVinci.
(LIft, Gamma, Gain)
Log is more akin to the use of "Shadows/blacks, Mids, Highlights". where shadows/blacks are 0-33 IRE, MIdtones are 33-66 IRE, and Highlights are 66-100 IRE. (of course you can adjust these) That being said, "curves" can be used as both, "lift, gamma, gain" and "blacks/shadows, mids and Highlights. (not only can you control the curve, but you can adjust where the curve starts and finishes, essentially the Lift and Gain)
So Color finale is capable of both. we can use the 3-way, or we can use the curves. Essentially the best of both.

Thank you FernKraft !
I was considering purchasing Color Finale, but wasn't sure since I already have HyColour Pro. This one only provides Lift Gamma Gain too, right ?

Does HyColour Pro have a LUT utility or any way to add LUTs to your grade.

No it doesn't, however I have LUT utility.
I think I only miss curves, and "vector color correction". At my current level I do not know how to use the latter though.

It's a way of isolate a small range of color and altering it.
