FCPX NOT SEEING A LIBRARY

FCPX NOT SEEING A LIBRARY was created by Pauil
In have had no problems until now.\I created a new library in FCPX but it would not upload files to it via the menu - I manage tic get the files in by simply dragging with the mouse and the library worked normal.
I closed all my other other open libraries.
However now when I restart FCPX all the libraries appear but never the new one. I can get this in by using Library Manager and it will add it to them open list, However when ~I restart FCPX the library does not show up and it is not listed in the library list within the menu even though it is there inside the finder and listed by Library Manager.
No matter how many libraries I close they always appear again when FCPX is opened,
IU deleted the preferences but it made no difference.
So my three issues are:-
1. Why does FXPX never see the new library in the list?
2. Why do all the libraries always show up in FCPX no matter how many times I close them?
3. Why could not fcpx import the files into the new library from the menu?
I have Googles away without any solution.
I am using the latest FCPX on MacPro.
Any help much appreciated

1. Find the library in the Finder and double click it.
3. Give complete details of the media and exactly what you're doing to import.

Yes I have done that in the finder and it will import it and I can even work on it but it goes again next time I open FCPX.
I have to do it all over again and can only import new media by dragging with a mouse.
I am importing .mov 4k files form a GH4 which i have done many times and working on the files inside the project is all OK. Its just that it never stays and never appears in the library list when you click to load a new library.
Also when double clicking it takes ages as it seems to load many unrelated events that belong to other libraries but these do not appear inside the library when it loads - just flash by as it takes the long time loading.
I tried creating the new library a few times but all with the same result.
I am totally baffled.

I have just done another test.
I created a new library which appeared inside FCPX.
I then copies one of the events from the new library into it after double clicking to get the new library and all was ok.
The new files stat there in the newer test library.
The newer test library also appeared inside the same library folder in Finder.
However when FCP was shut and reopened it did not see the new or newer test library not=r does it see it in the open list even though it is sitting in the same folder as the others.
The libraries are on a 32gb Pegasus raid drive.
So any new library I create cannot be seen by fcpx and cannot be imported into by using there menu system inside fcpx.

1- Launch FCPX while also holding down the Option and Command keys at the same time. In the resulting window, tell it to delete preference files.
2- Go to the File menu, to Open Library, then select (at the bottom) Clear Recents.
3- Next, go back to the File menu, Open Library, then select Other. In the resulting window, ignore the list if there is one, and click Locate, find the Library you want.
See what happens then.
You can only import into Libraries that are currently open. The appear in the Libraries pane, not the recents list. Just to clarify.

WHEN LOADING THE LOCATED NEW LIBRARY OT LOADS MANY EVENTS FROM OTHER LIBRARIES IN THE PANEL ON THE SCREEN BUT THEY DO NOT SHOW WITHING THE NEW LOADED LIBRARY.

Using a top spec macprto of the latest type bought this last year.
Using thunderbolt connection to 4 Pegasus raid drives.
Have not changed the setup at all and it has worked happily on this et up until now.
I tried transferring the new library to other discs but always the same result ... thensytem will create a new library and it will all work with editing etc but when fcpx is closed and reopened a long list of libraries load even though they were all closed before stopping fcpx but never any of the new ones. The new ones never appear in the list to open even though they sit there with the others in the same directory. I always have to locate and load them then they work perfectly aND I always have to close the long list that has been opened on start up.
It does the same if I open a new library without any media in it - it places it in the right directory then refuses to import media into it leaving me with the only option of using finder to drag media in. It cannot be the media as it does the same with an empty new library.

Even more bizarre now.
I created a new test library and imported a single graphic into it but the graphic did not go into it - it went to the unrelated library below it!!!!!
Basically fcpx has lost its ability to create and keep track of any new library.
I just updated todays update but it made no difference.

Two things to try as a test, a new user, with a couple of libraries in the Movies folder. Start from there to try to isolate the source of the problem.

Thank you. You are onto something.
You are onto something because when I log in as a guest onto the Mac Pro, the whole thing =works fine.
There is only me that uses the computer so I have no idea why it all works in every respect when logged in as a guest.
What do i do now?

Try this with a new user who is admin and try it with the Pegasus to eliminate that as a problem. If it's OK then the problem is mostly likely some third party software, either in FCP or the system. Try eliminating the FCP video and audio plugins you might have.

I tried all the suggestions and they all made no difference so as a last resort I contacted Apple Care and the following day they put me in touch withy an fcpx expert.
FACT
Simply deleting the preferences and emptying the trash can does NOT delete preferences all of the time!!!!
We had to delete the entire cache and other files in other folders in order to force FCPX to open with a window asking welcome to fcpx ... after that it all worked.
I asked for the procedure in writing and he was not keen on that as it was possible to have a major screw up. He gave me his contact details if it happens again as he would prefer a step by step control but stated it is pretty rare.
Lesson... IF after trashing preferences and emptying trash you do not see a welcome to fcpx window when opening up fcpx you have not trashed preferences.!!!
