Mouse cursor not pointing correctly when lassoing?

Hi guys,

just started experiencing some unwanted behavior. Not a super biggie, but annoying. It began yesterday - my mouse cursor seems to be a little off. I notice this when lassoing clips in FCPX. The REAL mouse cursor that the mac works with seems to be some hundred pixels left of the VISIBLE mouse arrow. So to lasso correctly, I have to point my mouse some inches to the right and begin lassoing from there. WTF?

Anyone else ever experienced this? I trashed my prefs but to no avail. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Sebastian

Are you using a wireless mouse? If so, can you connect a USB mouse and see if the problem is still there?

I use a trackpad but I don't think it's related to that. Just noticed that the problem occurs in one specific project only - other projects in the same library are not effected. Weird. It also only happens when lassoing - the offset is not there when click-selecting clips.

Thanks for chiming in!

That is strange. I've never seen that but am curious to know if you ever find a solution.

I had that a few days ago. But it was using a specific Stacks plugin in Rapidweaver. I'm also running beta OS X 10.11. I uninstalled the plugin and things were fine. What OS version are you running?

Hi Ben,

I do indeed use some title plugins from motionVFX and so others that came with FXFactory. Will try to disable them and see what happens.

I'm on FCPX 10.2.1 and OS X 10.10.5

On the road now but will post a follow up in a couple of days. Thanks!

Those plugins specifically are not troublesome. I doubt removing them will help. If you had a plugin from some other questionable source maybe. But, you can still try and see.
