Multicam editing

I am about to embark on a multi cam edit and I'd prefer to sync up using the slate claps, rather than using auto sync as it takes so long.
But A & B camera's have used separate markers at different times - should I first synchronise the sound to the different angles then make the multicam clip.
All the tutorials I have viewed have shown me how to use the marker system on the clap - but in this instance the claps happen at different times - so I am a bit confused on how to approach this.
Any comments or tutorials will be appreciated
Thanks
K

If claps aren't done at the same instant, then they are useless as a sync device. You'll need to make the multiclip by sync'ing sound. It may take a moment or two, but way faster than manually doing things.

There are 2 different claps on sound - first clap for A camera and 2nd clap for B camera - Known in film industry as Separate markers as opposed to a common marker. This is because the 2 cameras were logistically in different places and could not see the same clapper board. ' A' camera marker > clap... 'B' camera marker "clap - sorry if I didn't explain myself clearly.

The slates are useless for synching then. Audio synching is your only option. I'm assuming that the two cameras are recording the same or similar audio (i.e. they are covering different angles of the same musical performance). I find that audio synching usually goes shockingly quickly in 10.2. I sometimes have 6 cameras each stopping and starting several times, and FCPX will synch everything accurately in around 3 minutes at the most.

 you can 'support' the automatic, by manually setting Markers in each track/angle - find a synch point in all recordings anywhere in the timeline (could be a finished accord in the music piece, or when audieince start to clap... ).
Doesn't have to be precise, just close... !
When setting up the 'New Multicam', select 'synch on first marker' + 'use audio for synch'
synchs here 4 streams á 30min within seconds.. ok, many seconds.. a minute ...-ish.
