Suggestion for new titles

The freebie section hasn't had any new items for a few weeks. Here is a suggestion. How about taking some of those new titles that ABC has on their news and GMA and making them available for free or someone charge for them. Probably can do it in Motion, but not that good with Motion. Like the one with a title comes up and then a colored line comes down and under with another color. It is now familiar and I think many of us would like to use them in our YouTube videos. Thanks.

Not an expert on copyrights, but I think it is doubtful that these simple graphics can be copyrighted. Will put my suggestion another way. How about those who own this forum set up a place where people can post requests for items that someone could probably produce.

Oh, you'll be surprised what not is copyrighted! German Telekom has a © just on the color magenta, in use in its logo....

...hmm... the most profounded contributers at this forum do that for living; and I suppose, you want it for free, correct? ... ;)

Publish your effords here, and those senseis will probably chime in and help you. … But maybe I'm wrong, and some helpful soul build it for you ....

The section of offering free stuff has been up for a long time. I just point out that weeks and months go by without anything being added. I just suggested that a section be provided where people could make suggestions for things that might be useful to provide or sell for that mater. I get emails daily from outfits who are trying to sell stuff, but frankly I don't find much of it useful. I have spent around a thousand on packages over the past few years. Another idea would for people to put up ideas and others could offer a quote to provide it Don't know what the laws are in Germany, but I am certain that you can't copyright the color Magenta in the US.

hmm, well, the short version doesn't tell the whole story... But, indeed, Telekom has a 'design patent' in the niché 'telekommunication'; no other ISP or telephone company is allowed to use magenta with the "risk of confusing' the consumer....

nuts, but true story .... :silly:

But it's not only we Krauts give weird patents ... :

UPS owns brown, Caterpillar owns yellow ... in the US ... ;)

You can in fact copyright, or rather "trademark" a specific color in a logo. Coke has done it, so have many other brands. And those motion graphics are all the "property" of the broadcast companies that had them created. Yes, you can, and they definitely are, here in the US.

There are folks in the free templates and Motion sections who show examples of what they're trying to build, and ask for help with it. But to ask someone to simply build a complex, difficult motion graphic for your personal use, good luck with that. Time for someone to learn Motion and start being a designer themselves.

Built one in Motion. Would have rather bought it in a package, but surprised by all the negative comments. If someone wants to claim a copyright, then go for it. I just think that so many of these packages produced and sold don't offer as much flexibility as I would like to see. No, I don't want to get into the business of designing and selling graphics, but again I would suggest that a section be added where folks like myself could offer suggestions of things others could produce or sell.
