Managing stills question

Managing stills question was created by Gretta
I recently put together a short doc that consisted of lots of different rez stills (and asked a question about setting them all to 'None')
Every different size and shape of image could be set to it's actual size in the TL except for the images that were 960x720. these would always fill the frame and had to be manipulated manually by me. Mostly, I squeezed them until they looked right.
So my question is: is there a setting, perhaps in the Crop or distort, that would give me the dimensions as I am Shift-dragging a corner? I could not locate anything like that. In a photo edit app, I could get the pixel size as image was being manipulated, but I did not want to take the time to find all and redo all of them.
FYI, here's the movie:

Because that size is the exact specs of a standard anamorphic format, FCP treats it as such. You can either use a photo app to clip off a pixel. Or could also set one image up the way you want it in distortion, with Shift-drag the way you're doing it, or using Distort. You can then copy and paste attributes to apply that to other clips in the timeline with the same settings. Once you've done it you can also save it as an effect.

Hi Gretta
This can also be dealt with using an Automator workflow script as a "Service" which will set dimensions/resolutions. As a "Service" it would be available in Finder, FCPX and all other programs using the "Services" menu under the Window name. You can also then set a keyboard shortcut.
Easy to set up.
Automator is part of OS and lots of scripts exist to convert photos. etc…
Hope this helps, Greg

Thanks, Tom. That makes a kind of sense as to why it fills the frame, but how I get it to the correct aspect is what I need to know. After checking it out again, I realize that I was not seeing the percentages changing above the viewer window (mostly because I was looking at the image, and working on a second display where that little text wasn't very visible to me! Putting the viewer on the main display, I see it, but it is in percentage, not pixels. Doing the math, I can make it 75%x 100% (sequence is 1280x720) and made an EFX preset. Great! Now if only the scaling #s were in pixels! Another feature request???
vidGreg, thanks also. I have used Automator a little in the finder to batch convert stills, but in the finder, the images are correct! If you want to pass along a script, be my guest, but in this particular project, I didn't really pay attention to the actual frame size until I was putting the piece together. Once in FCP, I can sort by frame size, but it is only in the sequence that the problem is in evidence! So the EFX preset (combined with the Spatial conform: None) works great.
thanks to you both for another problem, er…challenge solved!
