Hello,
I have recently purchased the new Canon CX10. It's an awesome little camera with great features. I am not very experienced with the Canon MXF file it's self, But I have worked with P2 and Sony versions of MXF with no problems in the past. I recently up dated my Mac for the new suggested codes. This update does indicate that MXF is supported.

Problem; It does not support the new Canon MXF files. I have been to Canon's web site to download the plugin for FCPX as well. It seems like the file from Canon is broken in some manner and does not work in FCPX.

Question; Does anyone out there have a solution that will not take away from the quality of the image by running it through a third party software?

There is not much out there on this issue. If it's even an issue. I have updated all aspects of my machine and FCPX Every site that I have been to has pushed me to the same plugin from canon that does not seem to work.

Looking for help, Thanks,
Mike

Hi Michael, welcome to the forum.

I have no experience with this camera, but I would like to help you find a solution. Could you do a short test shoot (just a few clips) on an empty card? Then copy the complete folder of the card to your desktop, ZIP the folder and send it to me via WeTransfer or similar? If so, I could do some tests to see if we can get this working.

If you want to do this, here's my address: ronnycourtens(at)mac(dot)com

Hi Mike & Ronny,

Just stumbled across this thread and was wondering if either of you have had had any luck with ingesting and working with footage shot from the XC10 in FCP X? Assuming it's a codec issue.

Interested to hear if you had any luck resolving this one.

Thanks,
JP

I'm also looking for a solution with my footage from the Canon C300 Mark ii, which is also XF-AVC albeit at 10 and 12 bit. Looks like we'll have to wait for an update to FCPX or transcode to Prores. Arse!
