Resolve interlaced render in FCPX was created by Ponponpostprod
I'm grading a documentary for french tv (25i). After the FCPXML roundtrip (with field rendering checked), I import the xml in FCPX, and the timeline is in 25p with all the clips to be rendered (orange bar). If I change the project in 25i, the clips are although to be rendered (but the project is interlaced when i look on my external monitor ). When i check the clips properties in the project FCPX say that the resolve render is in 25p, but if i check the same clip properties in the browser (after a simple match frame to find clip in the browser) info tab say that the clip is in 25i ?!? :S
Any idea to have an interlaced timeline after importing my xml from resolve without clip to render ?

Hey Poncelin,
Create a new Project with Video Properties set to "based on first clip".
Then copy the clips of the problematic timeline and paste them onto the new one. Does that solve the issue?

I Ronny,
It don't solve anything, i had ever try this.
Something special : if i go in the info tab Settings, my clip is in 1920x1080 25p with upper field first !
If I take my project make a (shift+F to reveal clip and alt+R to replace) clip is detected as interlace one and have not to be calculated.

Replacing the clips on the timeline was going to be my next suggestion. But on second thought I don't think this is needed at all. Your exported files from Resolve are clearly interlaced, the only problem is that the Resolve Project XML seems to include the wrong field information for the Project settings and for the clips on the timeline.
If you change the Project settings to interlaced in FCP X and you export your timeline, your exported file should be perfect. There is no need to render anything before exporting.

Yes replacing the clip works but in my 52mn documentary i've 582 clip to remplace, so that's not a good choice...
It seems to be an xml problem between FCPX and Resolve. I've not this issue with FCP7 (I've ever tested one day).
My project is clearly interlaced so i know that exporting don't need any rendering but seeing this orange bar above my project after grading in 422HQ is not confortable.
Does anyone have encounter this problem and deal with it ?

Came into similar problem and gave up to deinterlace in FCPX directly. My workflow is to export the interlaced video directly, then use third party converting app like
HD video converter
to remove the lines (there's a deinterlacing opetion). It could be the simplest way I can find so far.

Hi Guys,
I have a 25i project in FCPX, all clips are natively 50i etc. The project is also as I said properly set up. I want to export to Apple Pro Res 422 for the final master.
When I export, the footage is interlaced and jagged when viewed with QT. When I view it with VLC and deinterlace, then the footage looks almost perfect, very minimal horrizontal edges.
I tried matching the settings in FCPX to upper field first, since I know that is the case ( I cross referenced it in Media Info). Then I tried all the other options.
The footage is still not broadcast quality.
Any suggestions.
Thanks!
