Chicken!
It's fine. X, 7, CC and others all work as expected.
Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)

Everything works fine, but it seems to suck down my RAM way faster than before on 10.10.3.
Using a new Mac Pro with 64GB. I even got a dialogue pop up twice about force quitting applications because the system ran out of memory, and the second time completely froze my Mac and I had to do a hard shut down. The only thing running was FCPX and Safari. Seems to be a memory leak somewhere. After having FCPX open for 5 minutes, my memory goes from 55GB free down to 20GB and falls rapidly.

I had a memory leak like that. I was roughing something together and I had a bunch of layers (6 or more) that I added outgoing transitions to and when I tried to render it to see what it looked like I got a serious memory leak. After I removed the transitions all was OK. It was the built-in slide transition. Each of the layers also had a Tokyo PiPinator effect on it. I reported it to Apple and since I ended up not taking that route for what I was trying to do it wasn't an issue. I have not seen anything similar since. This is on 10.10.3 however.

Ronny, no I do not. I usually keep that off at all times.

Okay, thanks. Then I agree with anickt that you might have one or more plugins that are causing the memory leak. I have seen some other reports about this, but the issue you are describing is really abnormal.
Can you do a test? Create a new admin user account. Launch FCP X with this account and see if you still get the abnormal memory usage. Then report back.

I had a hard time updating to 10.10.4, the app store application would freeze up when I checked for new updates. At the same time start the app was using a fair amount of CPU and started filling up RAM. It required a fair amount of fiddling around with force quitting the software update that seemed to be not doing anything and system restarts and checking the iTunes store. This happened on both a New mac pro and a Macbook pro.

After running the update process for 10.10.4 my 2009 17" macbookpro refused to shut down. I forced a shutdown after one hour of inactivity (grey screen, with just a moveable mouse pointer) by holding down the power button. After power up I got the usual message that my MBP experienced a forced powering down.
I checked the OS version. It was still on 10.10.3.
I repaired disk permissions and repeated the process of shutting down. Same behavior again.
After a search in Google i found a forum post about XTraFinder that might cause these problems. I have it onmy system too.
I uninstalled XtraFinder and immediately the 10.10.4 installation process resumed.
Shutting down and/or restarting is working again.
So, if you are running XtraFinder and experience these problems too, try if uninstalling helps.
