Library missing events

I imported media into fcp 10.2.1 successfully but then physically disconnected the external hd without disconnecting in finder and while still running fcp. Result, fcp does not show the two events that I imported. All existing events still sow up. However, if I try to create a new event with the same name of one that I can not see, it says the name exists. I can also see the events and media through finder when I "show package contents" of the library. Is there a way to show the event (reconnect it) in the library? If not, can I just delete the event from within finder? I can not delete the event from within fcp because I can not see it.
Thanks for your help

It appears that the library database has not been updated correctly because of the way the drive was disconnected.
One way to try to correct it is to force a rebuild of the library database:
-quit FCP X
-locate the library in the Finder
-control-click, "Show Package Contents"
-drag the "Current Version.flexolibrary" file outside the library (to your Desktop, for example)
-start FCP X again.
Hopefully your events may reappear.

That worked. Thanks!
I ran into another problem on different events that I thought that same trick might work but it did not. This problem came up after FCP crashed. It happened several times...I think it has something to do with my DV recorder. The problem is that I can see the event in FCP but not the clips. I can see the clips in finder, so I know they are there. Is there a way to make the clips reappear in the event?

Thanks again for the last response.

In case the FCP crash caused some corruption in the event, I would suggest making a new event and try importing the clips into that new event. Select import and point to where you see those clips in the finder.

Creating history....one edit at a time !
