Sharing location. Does it make a difference? was created by Jonathan Levin
Hi everyone.
I started wondering this AM if it makes a difference where a Shared file is created.
For example, if I create a master file, I have always been directing FCP to save that file to my desktop, which also happens to be my start up and Applications drive.
Should i be choosing another drive to "save" that file to, or doesn't it matter.

Doesn't matter. Drives, even slow ones, tend to write faster than the processors can encode the file. Either way, you won't see any real life difference in speed, no matter where you write them to.
