Computer shopping, need advise

I am about to be computer shopping again. Even though my current 3.1 mac pro has been a solid work horse, its getting time to think about moving into something newer. Since I'm just chronicling my other hobbies with a consumer grade HD camcorder (there may be a gopro in my future) a 27 inch iMac will more than be able to meet my needs for the foreseeable future. Will Final Cut pro X run on the iMacs with Nvidia graphics or do I have to spring for the 5K since its the only one with AMD graphics?

I would suggest ether getting the top of the line iMac (Future safe) or Mac Pro which we might see a major update soon.

By the way what is up with your Avatar?

FCPX runs fine on my 27" late 2012 iMac with the Nvidia GTX 680MX.

Thanks for the advise. As far as my Avatar, I'm a long range shooter at heart. I learned to shoot in the Marine Corps. Since I retired in 2007 I have taken up building my own rifles.

I'd go for the biggest, baddest iMac, also. I'd by pass the Mac Pros at this time.
