Creating history....one edit at a time !
Checking the site indicates that not all are $99. There are still some $49 and $59 plugins. It does appear there has been a price increase but also many of the plugins and templates are now 4K. Contact MotionVFX to get the clear picture of what has been newly priced and revamped.

I got Volumetrix for the lower price, but I think I got it during a promotional sale. Things go on sale and off sale there all the time. But even at the higher prices, the products are still VERY worth the price. No better quality than MotionVFX.

And I just got the following in an email from MotionVFX:
"Hi everyone,
This is Szymon, MotionVFX's Founder and CEO.
There has been a lot of controversy on our new pricing that we've introduced a few days ago, so I'm pleased to let you know that we do listen to you and we're introducing new, lower and standardized pricing on everything we produce!
As you know, everything we do requires hundreds of hours of work of our entire team. We focus on every single detail and design it carefully - we provide low priced products, which then are used by our customers to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. Everyone wants everything free of charge and make money from that content, but usually they forget how much it costs to produce it and how much work is involved with a single product. Please remember that we are not one of those companies who steal the content from others and build products based on that, but we produce every single element and product from scratch. And that makes production costs very high.
I always felt that we give away very complex, well designed content for a very, very low price. I wanted to let you feel special and I still do. I feel that every one of you is very special and that's why we will keep our high-end products at very low prices.
With world's economy changing and constant wages and expenses risings, we've tried to increase the prices to be able to produce even more fantastic products. We've tried, but you didn't like it
Well, I have to admit that I was wrong and I'm not ashamed to say that. After listening to your feedback, I admit it was a little unfair to first develop the whole Motion Templates and FCPX community pricing, which we introduced a long time ago, and then increase it. We love listening to our customers, so I'm happy to introduce New Lower Standardized Pricing as explained below.
If you feel that you've paid an incorrect price in the last several days for the product you've purchased, drop our support an email at support@motionvfx.com and our team will be happy to provide you with an in-store credit.
As my apology for the confusing situation, you'll find a Free Motion Template link down below this email - you can download this free Motion Template during this summer sale period.
And please don't forget about our Summer Sale - use "SUMMER" code at checkout to receive 30% off everything.

I got the same mail. Nice to hear.
Their products are really great and I really don't regret anything I bought from them. And I am sure he's correct when he says they spend a lot of hours to make everything, one of the reasons that I think you often make an impulse buy of their stuff, is because of the price. 99 dollars is a lot less impulse buy then a 49 dollar template.
I bought a lot of their stuff because of those prices. I would buy a lot less with the double prices.
I'm glad they are returning their prices to what they were.
And about their company, nothing but respect, in general.

Even if I could get the same plugin from another developer for less, I'd pay the extra for the quality and customer service MotionVFX delivers. mObject (things Apple 3D text won't do), mDust, mRays, mSmoke, mVolumetric, etc, I get a lot of mileage out of them all.

I really love motionVFX's stuff. Unfortunately they are a bit of processor hogs (especially mVintage and mGlitch) which makes me use them less often than I probably would otherwise.
I also wish there was a way to apply the likes of mFire, mSmoke etc via a plug-in.

I created a folder on my RAID, I call it "Stock Media".
In that folder I make other folders for each vendor I get stock media from.
In those, I put product names, or category names.
I import, using the Folders as keywords.
I did that once, cleaned up redundancies in the Library pane, and there's my stock media Library, on the same RAID as my other Libraries and media. That way nothing is really duplicated.
When I add material, I do so in the folders, then import using folders as keywords.
Works great for me to keep that stuff organized, easy to track and find. Here's an example.

I do something similar... But I keep finding myself dragging quite a few of them onto the timeline before I find the one that fits. And the are added to the event everytime, so even if it's not duplicated files, your event gets littered with things you are not really using!
If they were a plug-in some how, maybe you could just quickly switch between the different files while they are on the timeline etc etc...

If they were a plug in you'd have similar issues, and the plug-in as a whole would have to load up into RAM, so you'd get really super bogged down. No, it works fine just as is. Try one, doesn't work, delete. The more you work with your stock footage, the more informed you are, the faster you'll fly through it.
