Audio changes don't stick...ghost in my Mac??? was created by Jonathan Levin
Hi all.
I have something weird that is happening, but it does not happen all the time.
I've got five projects that I've added clips from an interview. The audio was recorded seperately and then synced up using FCP X. Worked great!
I went in and expanded the audio on all the clips to make some level changes. I have two channels of audio one main mic that I adjusted to 10db and a second mic set to -11db. I made this change to every clip with this person, and double checked my settings.
Yesterday, I came back and noticed something was not quite right with my audio and when I expanded that audio, my main mic channel had reverted back to 0db, on some, but not all of the clips. Oddly, the second channel (-11) all stayed where I had sett them.
OK. So I thought I just overlooked setting some levels, changed them to where I wanted, and that was that.
The next time I re-opened FCP X, there were some more channels that reverted back to their default value of 0db!!!! And I KNOW I checked every clip!
Today I checked the clips and so far things seem to be holding.
So do I have a ghost living in my Mac?
I have been using the delete unused render files command to keep things tidy. Not sure if that is doing something odd?
Let me know if you too feel like you are going insane re-doing work that you have already done...

I just tested this, can't reproduce it. Deleting render files should have no effect on clip settings.

Thanks Ben.
I just the strangest thing. Today I had no problems. But it's one of those situations where I know I did something and then a bit later it shows that I didn't.....
This happened a few months ago too, and then after several go arounds, it just resolved.
Anyway, if anyone thinks their going crazy, well, you are not alone.
