Two Macs running 10.2.1. Can't share a Project or Event between them. What am I doing wrong?

Two Macs running 10.2.1. Can't share a Project or Event between them. What am I doing wrong? was created by Burgs
I have two Macs - an iMac i7 on my desktop and a 2015 MacBookPro to travel with. I travel a lot (touring musician) which is why I bought the MacBookPro - to take projects generated on the iMac on the road with me to finish. But for the life of me I cannot seem to share one with the other.
I have connected the computers with Thunderbolt but I'm getting an Unsupported Volume Type window with "Choose a local or SAN location" message when trying to create a new Library on the second computer with which to share an Event or Project from the first.
I have also tried creating a new Library on an external drive connected to the iMac via USB, placing a test project in it and then connecting that same drive to the MacBook Pro for import that way. The Library is greyed out, though, and that method has not been a success either.
I guess I'm missing something important, yes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One of the computers has to be in target disk mode so it acts as a hard drive for the other. Boot the computer holding the T key.

The other, more common solution is to use and external Thunderbolt drive to hold your libraries and media and move it from machine to machine. Make sure you have a backup as well.

I'm good to go now. I missed something earlier (opening the new Library on the second Mac) but it's cool now. I thank you sincerely. Now to buy a portable Thunderbolt drive.
Cheers.
Cheers.
