Cleanest way to delete entire library

Cleanest way to delete entire library was created by kman198
I've libraries which are no longer needed. Since current storage space is near critical levels. I want to insure library removal is complete.
I have performed File->Delete Generated Event Files, File->Delete Generated Project Files. Sent all media to the trash. I believe what remains is the .fcpbundle file located on the ext. drive.
Is there other steps I should take before sending the .fcpbundle file to the trash can?

Assuming you used managed media workflow (copied all files during import to the library): You can simply drag the unneeded library to the trash. All the generated files you deleted within FCPX typically by default reside inside the library (unless you chose to save cache files and generated files in another location) so they would be deleted when trashing the library.
If you imported leaving files in place, the original footage would not be in the library, but rather some external location which you could locate and trash if desired

Thanks DW...
Side note for anyone... I've read someplace there are benefits to storing cache files and generated files in locations other then where the bundle file is.
My current storage for all parts of the fcpbundles is an 40TB ext. HD via firewire. It may help to know I'm using Yosemite, iMac, 2.93 GHz 2 Duo, 4G memory.
Might I see improvements relocating cache and generated files?

Hi Karl,
It is correct that storing the Cache folders on a different drive than the media drive can increase performance. But only if the drive where the Cache folders are stored is very fast, meaning an SSD drive or a fast RAID. I think in your case it is better to leave everything inside the Library on your external drive.
What would make a significant difference in your step is to bump the RAM up to 8GB instead of the 4GB you have right now.

Hi Karl.
Assume you mean a 4TB hdd via FW800???
Time to ditch FW. Your bare drive is faster than your interface. ~120/160Mb/s vs 80Mb/s Some of the latest 7200rpm 6TB drives can send up to 220Mb/s.
Not sure what iMac you have, but if you have USB3 or TB, both are much faster interfaces, and faster than any single drive. USB2 is slower than FW800 though.
If you go for a USB3 external drive, I highly recommend getting one with USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) capable/enabled device. It is sometimes listed as UAS.
UASP is much faster than legacy USB Bulk Only Transfer (BOT). If it isn't advertised as UASP, then it will be BOT.
Thunder Bolt is faster yet.
Ronny is right, get more RAM, 16GB if your Mac will support it, but doubling your current will help.
Hope this helps, Greg
