Error code 60 was created by Emmanuel
Hi guys

After sending a project from FCPX 10.2.1 to Compressor 4.2, I get an error code 60 in the middle of the export.

I can't really find the source of the problem. Do you know what this error code is for ?

Thanks!

I am able to export a master from FCPX though.

I need to downscale from 4K to 2K to make a DCP.

Is there a loss of quality if I export first the Master 4K from FCPX, and then re-compress it in Compressor in 2K ?

My timelines are in ProRes 422 HQ. There is no further post-production to make, the film is done.

What app will be doing your DCP?

Hey Manu,

If your Project is in 4K ProRes 422 HQ and you need to deliver a 2K master for DCP, you can export a 4K Master File and open this in Compressor to create the 2K version.

Just make sure the Resize Filter in the Video > Quality settings in Compressor is set to "Better". There will be no loss of quality whatsoever.

Thank you Ronny. That's indeed what I have ended up doing. I'm happy to see there is no loss of quality.

Hey Manoucho,
Sounds like you have found a workaround. :)
Error -60 is a generalized code referring to bad master memory block. Could be caused by several things. If I were to guess, think you ran out of RAM and a swap file misbehaved. Could be any number of other things as well.
Rebooting, not having any other apps running may or may fix it. A full shutdown clears RAM and cleans up some of the crud in the files. Worth a try, no guarantees
Hope this helps, Greg
